I’ve written about the very talented Gabby Young on this blog before in a new music post that you can read here. Since then she and her band have been hard at work producing music and playing shows and now they are ready to start the build up to promoting her 3rd album ‘One Foot In Front Of The Other’ which is set to be released on 16th June this year. That cycle starts with the release of brand new single ‘I’ve Improved’ which you can listen to below:

Opening with a brass section before an upbeat guitar melody comes in giving a Spanish feel to the whole track. The quick drums and trumpets in the chorus give a danceable rhythm and that Marachi Band edge. Fromt haunting backing vocals to soft strings to those quick drums and prominent guitar line there is a lot going on musicially but somehow it does manage to work creating a catchy song that is unlike pretty much everything else out there. Vocally, Young’s voice remains the central point of this track with her rich tone and huge notes she can create. A very good track and one that will surely leave you wanting to her more from her.

The new single was released on 14th April and is available to download now for free and with the album release following a couple of months after, it looks like a busy few months to come for Gabby and her band. Tour dates for the UK are set to be announced soon but in the meantime there is a few dates on her site for the next couple of months in the UK and Europe too, check those out here.
