As this year’s Record Store Day fast approaches, I want to draw your attention to one of the more exciting events taking place in Sheffield on the day if you are a music lover wanting to make the most of the one day of the year truly dedicated to great music.
The Bath Hotel, known for it’s range of great beers, awesome whiskey/gin selection and it’s pork sandwiches, will be holding an event that is sure to be the highlight of many a music fan.
Opening it’s doors at 12pm, their snug will be transformed into a pop-up Record Collector store for the day as the guys from the store transport some of their varied and eclectic wares down to The Bath for you to browse and buy until 5pm.
In the main room, artist and vinyl DJ Tom J Newell will be spinning some excellent tunes for you all during the day and keep your eyes peeled for the chance to pick up some of his awesome artwork at the event too!
If you think you’ve got a great ear for music, feel free to bring your own vinyl down, have it played for a small donation to charity and show those kids a thing or two. There may also be a special guest DJ making an appearance later on in the day…
Onto the evening and as the pop up store closes, the live music begins from 6:30pm as Amy Lavere and Will Sexton, Paul Miro and headliners The Clench take to the stage to finish Record Store Day off in style!
So whether it is vinyl shopping, chilling out drinking beer and listening to DJ sets or checking out some great live music, The Bath has put together a great day that really does have something for everyone, music lover or not. There’s more to be confirmed so keep your eyes on their Facebook event for more info and updates.
The Bath Hotel is located at 66-68 Victoria Street, Sheffield, S3 7QL
The Record Store Day event takes place at The Bath Hotel on Saturday April 16th from 12pm – 5pm (Record Collector Pop-Up and Tom J Newell DJ Set) and 6:30pm til late for the live music.
