Today, I’m bringing you the first lot of new music for 2016 in the form of the brilliant Frances. This girl has already turned plenty of heads and had many plaudits bestowed on herself in her short time in the spotlight but it is all for good reason with her stunning ballad-esque tracks.
The above track is entitled ‘Borrowed Time’ and is her most recent single. Beautifully, soft vocals build into a track which starts off fragile and soon becomes a soul meets R’n’B meets indie masterpiece. The sound seems so mature and beyond this girl’s years but she clearly has a natural talent that she has honed to create such well-rounded and well created tracks. An early wonder for 2016 and will surely become a potential track of the year for many already.
A BRIT’s Critics Choice Nominee and a Sound of 2016 Longlist finalist, this singer/songwriter and pianist really has impressed the two new music bastions of a brand new year in music. She’s been featured on Radio 1 with her single ‘Let It Out’, been named a One To Watch by Vevo’s DSCVR artist and her debut track ‘Grow’ was featured as the soundtrack to an Amazon Prime TV Commercial.
All that plus supporting James Bay on his recent US tour sets this girl in good stead for 2016. Described by Clash Magazine as “a sublime talent” and with a voice like her’s, it was always going to be difficult not to notice her talent.
