Arctic Monkeys – Fake Tales of San Fransisco
Sheffielder hears Sheffield’s finest Arctic Monkeys on 6Music this week and then decides to feature them on her blog. Absolutely no shocker at all that my Sheffield pride would find me featuring possibly my favourite Arctic Monkeys track on the blog this week. I don’t really have a lot to say about these guys that hasn’t already been said before. They’re great, yeah they had a dodgy third album but we’ll forgive them that because everything else has been wonderful. And as much as that is me trying to put across my unbiased opinion, I’m sure you all see that little bit of Sheffield pride in there because let’s face it everyone in the city is proud of these guys.
Passion Pit – Take A Walk
This one is probably one of my all time favourite songs. This album came out not long before I went travelling back in 2012 and though I’d heard the singles all throughout the summer, I didn’t listen to the album until that month I spent on trains and in hostels. It was a great album to watch the beautiful scenery of Europe to, from mountains to beaches and everything in between, it looked seemed even more amazing to me with this wonderful album as its soundtrack. The album has stuck with me since then and everytime I listen to it now, or just a song from it, I’m reminded of that amazing and life changing month I spent in Europe backpacking around the continent on my own.
