Mercury Rev – Are You Ready?
I’ve heard this track on 6Music a hell of a lot recently and I absolutely adore it. I must admit, I wasn’t a 100% sure of it the first time I heard it but it has grown on me over the last couple of weeks. It has a great atmosphere and plenty of wonderful sounds and melodies woven throughout it. I think this could be one of my songs of the year and it will definitely be a standout of this Autumn/Winter in music.
Arcane Roots – Resolve
The brilliant Arcane Roots have become one of the mainstays of my listening habits over the past few months after catching them live for the first time back at Y Not Festival earlier in the summer. Their music is just brilliant alternative rock and roll full of riffs, rhythm and melodies. From the softer moments to the louder and heavier parts, their music just screams quality and brilliance that it is hard not to be taken in by these guys.
