Firstly, sorry for now This Week post last weekend, I was at Y Not festival and didn’t have time to finish it off before I went so instead I’m doing a bumper two week round up for this week’s post and without further ado, let’s get started. Not last weekend but the weekend before, it was mine and my boyfriend’s year anniversary and we celebrated by having a lazy Sunday before having a pretty eventful trip to Leeds. The rest of the week was busy, getting prepared for the festival, sorting the cat out to take to the cattery and just general jobs as well as planning blog posts for next month, which is a hell of a lot easier now that I don’t have a cracked laptop screen.

Last weekend, we spent at Y Not festival in Matlock. We went on the Friday morning, set up our tent straight away and then had a relaxed afternoon before going off to enjoy the great music that was on offer over the course of the weekend. Every day we saw plenty of amazing acts from Basement Jaxx’s headline set on Saturday night to the brilliant Zoax that we discovered on Sunday afternoon. The festival itself was great with a focus on the best music as well as fun and a more community sort of feel as it was a smaller festival. I’m not really a fan of camping at all but it wasn’t as bad as it could have been for me at Y Not and I think it is the type of festival that I would return to again for it’s great line up and wonderful atmosphere.

The rest of the week has been a bit of a festival daze, it took me until Thursday to fully pull myself out of it and get somewhat back on track with everything from this blog to general household chores and the like. For that reason, the rest of the week hasn’t been all that interesting to write about. Hopefully, after the weekend and more work and time to sort things out I’ll be fully back on track to making the most of my summer.

What I’ve Been Listening To:

We Are Scientists – Nice Guys

The Pains of Being Pure At Heart – Simple and Sure

Zoax – Bitter Angry Fake

Pulled Apart By Horses – High Five, Swan Dive, Nose Dive

What I’ve Been Reading:

– A great and thought provoking post from Zoe London about reminscing and the obsession our generation in particular has at looking back instead of forwards.

– A great interview meets preview piece on The Maccabees latest album on Clash Music website this week. It was interesting to get an insight into the band’s minds as they were writing and making this stunning fourth album.

– For anyone struggling with blogger’s block, Becky Bedbug has written a brilliant post with some ideas on what to do to help combat it.
