tracks of the week #103

Disclosure ft. Gregory Porter – Holdin’ On

I know that I featured this track in my weekly round up last week but I had to feature it again as it is such a great track and I can see it becoming my go to song from this summer. Much like a Disclosure’s last album which became a soundtrack to the summer of it’s release, this summer will see Disclosure reign supreme again. It seems to me that Disclosure can do no wrong when it comes to music and producing one hell of a dance track that is full of groundbreaking sounds and beats guaranteed to get us all on the dancefloor.

PINS – Young Girls

The brilliant PINS have recently released their second album ‘Wild Nights’ and it is nothing short of a wonderful effort and a great listen. The above track is taken from this latest release and is full of indie sensabilities, a grunge edge to everything and building bass lines. It is a great track all about the dreams of young girls and the carefree attitude of youth where your main focus is only being happy and having fun. The lethargic vocals create a great line spanning throughout the track while crashing cymbals and dreamy guitar lines dance around the background. A track and album worth checking out.
