Here we go then, part two of my Travel Bucketlist and in this edition I’ve crossed the pond as they say to North America and Canada. I’ve been to America twice already, Florida and New York, and I would love to go back to NYC but I’ve a state and some cities below that I’ve never been to that I desperately want to visit. Plus, a little trip to Canada at some point would be awesome with its stunning natural beauty why wouldn’t you want to go.
California is the one state I desperately want to visit in America. I can’t even remember how long I’ve wanted to go there, all I know is it is a long time. I’d love to roadtrip the whole state, but honestly I’d quite like to roadtrip all of America, but I really think the best way to see California as a tourist is to roadtrip your way round it. The West Coast way of life is famously laid back and relaxed and I could always do with a chilled out atmosphere to surround me. There is so much to see here from the fame and riches of LA to the laid back cool meets rock star royalty of the 80’s of San Francisco. I desperately want to get to see this state and the amount of times I look at flights for California really is getting ridiculous.
Over the past couple of years as I’ve become more interested in the mix of country and nature alongside urban, city life, it means Canada has become a place I want to visit more and more. I mean just look at it, it’s stunning, so much unspoilt natural beauty but there are also the big cities such as Toronto and Vancouver that are packed with culture. Again it is probably one of those places that is best seen via roadtrip and probably in Spring/early Summer after the snow has gone. Such a truly stunning place deserves to be on everyone’s travel wishlist and it is most definitely high on mine.
Northern US States
So for years I’ve wanted to roadtrip America, it’s a dream of mine and many, probably the ultimate travel dream for a few and understandably so. Above are 4 of the cities I would be adding to my roadtrip hit list first, along with Cali and NYC of course. Boston is somewhere I’ve always had a bit of an obsession with and would love to visit and Chicago is a mix of novels I’ve read, Fall Out Boy being from there and the fact that architecturally it looks stunning. I absolutely love Scandal which as many of you know is set in Washington DC and the scenic shots make this city look wonderful which just fuels my want to go there, it is full of history quite literally everywhere you go there has some huge historical significance which is awesome for a history geek like me. And Portland I just have a very intense obsession over, I read an article years ago about Portland and its cultural scene from music to food, coffee to shops and I fell in love with the place instantly. It may not be the obvious choice for most but for me it is all about Portland, I want to experience the laid back atmosphere, the city jam packed with culture and the nature that surrounds this city. So I guess this means only one thing, ROADTRIP!
