If you are anything like me then you won’t even be able to think of undertaking a roadtrip without a decent soundtrack to it, preferably one you’ve painstakingly spent hours making. Well the lovely folk at TravelSupermarket have the perfect competition for you, they are challenging all you music lovers out there to compose the ideal soundtrack to five pieces of footage they have shot of the most stunning road trips available in the UK.
The road trips range from the Scottish Highlands: Inverness to Durness, the Lake District: Ambleside Pass to Pooley Bridge, North Yorkshire Moors: Pickering to Kirbeymoorside, Cheddar Gorge and The Atlantic Highway. Most roads take in the beautiful rolling hills, gorgeous countrysides, lochs, rivers and seascapes that we have all on this wonderful island, and personally I’m super proud of Yorkshire for having 2 videos in there.
All you have to do is chose your favourite video of the lot and compose a soundtrack to go along with it. All music must be original with the entrants uploading their composition to Soundcloud and emailing a link to it to firstname.lastname@example.org before Friday, 17th April!
The team will then embed the audio into the video of the entrant’s choice, upload it to YouTube and the video with the most views with make it through to the live final where Mercury Prize nominee Sam Lee, XFM DJ Liliana Bird will be judging the final videos in front of a live audience at a London venue on Wednesday, 22nd April. The prize for the winner will be studio time worth £2000 in a location of your choice. The perfect prize for any young budding musicians or bands out there looking for some studio time.
The competition is open to anyone regardless of the genre of music they play so whether you are a jazz musician, classical enthusiast or a heavy metal band you can all enter as long as your track matches the length of the video you are soundtracking.
The competition is now open and finishes 5pm on Friday, 17th April and then all entries must be emailed to email@example.com For more information on the competition and to see the videos visit the competition website.
