Today, I bring you the latest single from Canada’s Christina Martin, I’ve featured the songstress on here before and you can check out that post here. This new single ‘It’ll Be Alright’ is due to be released on 30th March via her own Come Undone Records and is the first taster of her soon to be released fifth studio album. You can check out the video for the track below:
This first single has an upbeat and poppy feel to the rock song with clear country influences running throughout. It sees a slight departure from the alt-country sound that has been the main influence of her music and to me it seems like she has grown not fully ditching her roots but growing on it. The catchiness of this one will make it an instant hit with her fans and new listeners alike and from great guitar moments to her soaring vocals in choruses and country twang in the verses it really is a very impressive track.
The new ten track long album is entitled ‘It’ll Be Alright’ like the single and will be released on 20th April. It is an album that sees Martin mixing the influences of her musical heroes with modern day pop-rock big names and it was during the making of this album that experienced a moment where everything in her music career came into focus. Here is what she had to say about it; “With this album, I am able to say a lot more with my music than I ever have before. There is growth because we are all reaching for something bigger for ourselves and the audience.”
Christina and her band will be hitting the UK this April/May starting out at Half Moon in London on 28th and finishing up in Stowmarket at the John Peel Centre on 2nd May, taking in Milton Keynes, Bury and Chester on the way. You can find out more about the tour here.
