Sound City 2015: The Latest

Liverpool’s Sound City has already got a very good line up behind it at the moment and it is about to get bigger and better with it’s latest announcements. 15 new bands have been added to the festival bill all bringing something completely different and creating a line up that really does offer something for everyone with a variety of different sounds.

The Cribs are the main act announced and they will be a welcome addition after returning to the music scene with a soon to be released album and a tour they are on currently. Peace, Everything Everything, Swans, Fat White Family, George The Poet, Honeyblood, Spector, Iceage, Stormzy, Bill Ryder-Jones, The Bohicas, Aquilo, The Sundowners and Liverpool’s Tea Street Band are the other latest acts to be added to 2015’s line up. With a mix of big names, older acts and brand new bands, it fully encompasses the best of the music scene new and old.

Sound City CEO had this to say about the latest announcements; “It’s a really big year for Sound City – with the move to our incredible new industrial home at Bramley Moore Dock we promised to create a bill that smashed expectations. We believe we have more than delivered on this promise. We have brought in some of the biggest names in the business this year from The Flaming Lips, Belle and Sebastian to The Vaccines and some of the acts we’re announcing today including The Cribs and Peace. We’ve also selected the very best of the scene’s emerging talent.”

The new acts will join the headliners Belle and Sebastian, The Vaccines and The Flaming Lips along with Blossoms, Gaz Coombes and Dutch Uncles which have all previously been announced. Everything Everything bassist, Jeremy Pritchard, had this to say about his band’s addition to the festival line up; “Liverpool has such a sense and conspicuous love of live music so we always feel at home there, we always have a good time and a great party.”

The festival will take place between 22nd-24th May with the conference being held on 21st and 22nd May. Wristbands are available to buy now for weekend and day passes as well as conference passes, buy them from here.
