Set in the beautiful scenes of Portmeirion in Wales, Festival No.6 is one of those festivals I’ve always wanted to go to and with this year’s bill that has been announced so far it does nothing to subside that urge to buy a ticket for the weekend. The intimate festival celebrates the best in music, arts and culture taking place over the first weekend in September making it one of the last festivals of the season.
Only a handful of acts may have been announced so far but they are very good ones with the headliners for this year being the wonderful Belle & Sebestian and the great Grace Jones. Both have had long and elustorous careers over the past 20 years and more so both will be acts to make sure you catch and a total treat for Festival No.6 goers.
Other acts announced are 2014 Mercury Winners Young Fathers, Mercury nominated Kate Tempest and the best of the sound of 2015 from Rae Morris, Stornoway, Ghostpoet and 2 Bears through to everyone from the likes of Andrew Weatherall, Mark E and Motor City Drum Ensemble. So far there is everything here from the traditional band to boundary pushing artists and DJ sets, the second wave of acts and the final headliner will be announced over the coming months, surely that will be another great list of names.
Festival No.6 takes place from 3rd to 6th September in Portmeirion with acts performing across the site in the village, the town hall, the piazza and the woods among other places. Other music acts along with the art and cultural line up and a list of top name chefs are still to be announced.
If you are already looking at tickets they are £160 or £175 for early arrival on Thursday, a list of other prices are available here.
