tracks of the week #78

Coasts – Let Go

I love Coasts, they are a brilliant band and one of the best bands I’ve discovered this year by far. This track builds up and even from the quieter build up you can already here a catchy guitar hook before it all crashes in, in all its infectious glory. With danceable rhythms, a catchy chorus, 80’s style synths all layered up with that great addictive guitar line, it really makes for a great track that will not only put you in a good mood but will definitely become a necessary addition to your best dance along to playlist.

Eliza and the Bear – Light It Up

I’ve heard of Eliza and the Bear many times before but never really checked them out properly, however this track was on a mixtape I got sent by the lovely girls at No Rest Press and it was instant love with this particular track. From the off, with it’s quick tempoed percussion and harmonious vocals that make you want to sing along at the top of your voice, you know that this is going to be a track that will be stuck in your head for days. It’s the mix of catchy elements with the calm, lilting guitar line that flows between everything else wonderfully that really makes this a special track, perfectly toeing the line between a slow, anthemic festival beauty to a more upbeat set highlight.
