Grey Acid Wash Crop – Primark / Orange Crochet Short – New Look / Sheer Long Black Shirt – H! by Henry Holland for Debenhams / Red Leopard Print Boots – River Island / Necklace – Boutique in Rome / Bag – Primark
I threw this outfit together the other day when I was off to meet a friend for a day of shopping, cinema, food and a catch up. It was one of those days where despite having a packed wardrobe I had no idea what to wear at all. But after seeing an outfit similar to this on a blog recently with a long oversized sheer shirt over a crop and shorts I thought why not try it out for myself.
I picked my crochet shorts out [again!] I seriously love these so much I can not stop wearing them, they are so comfortable and such a bright piece means they are so easy to style with simple colours and patterns. A grey acid wash crop which has become a bit of wardrobe staple for me and this oversized sheer shirt by Henry Holland for Debenhams were what I patterned the shorts with on this day. The shirt I’ve had for a couple of years now and I’ve never really known how to style it properly, I’ve just stuck to wearing it as a dress with a plain black underdress underneath in the part but I like this new way of wearing it, as a sort of extra layer but something thin enough to wear all day and be part of the outfit.
When I wore this out I wore sandals as it was still really hot but for this I paired it with red leopard print chelsea boots from River Island that I’ve had for around 2-3 years now and are my autumn footwear staple. I love the contrast of these against the more basic colours but they are also muted enough to work against the bright orange shorts as well.
I think this is proof that these days, blogs can inspire your style just as much as magazines and celebrities. What do you think? Do style/fashion blogs inspire your style/outfits?
