Scatty Cats Playsuit – Drop Dead Clothing / Dogtooth Blazer – Dorothy Perkins / Maroon Hat – Topshop / Gold and Black Box Clutch – H&M / Peach Ballerinas – Primark
With Spring well and truly here, temperatures creeping up slightly and less wind and rain than the UK normally sees, it is the perfect time for me to dig through my wardrobe and pull out some pieces that I have not received a lot of love and attention over the winter months. Also, swayed by a post I’ve written on Drop Dead Clothing [up this week!] and an order I placed in the recent sale on their site, I pulled out this old school Drop Dead playsuit as it’s definitely not seen the light of day in a while.
It’s a shame that I haven’t worn this piece in a while because I absolutely adore it, the Scatty Cats print on this playsuit has been used throughout a fair amount of Drop Dead’s previous collections so it’s quite a well known pattern for them now. The playsuit itself fits well though is slightly short but that may be because I’m insanely tall. It’s lightweight and can be worn on it’s own, with or without tights and looks good teamed with a leather jacket, cardigan or blazer like it is here.
The blazer is another one of my favourite pieces and again one I don’t wear often enough. I love the dogtooth pattern, the monochrome colour palette means it goes with literally everything in my wardrobe, the boxy oversized cut is perfect for someone like me who prefers baggier fits over tighter cuts and it’s such a statement piece that has a slight 80’s look to it that it pulls any outfit together easily. Pairing everything with my new maroon hat, the black and gold box clutch from H&M and a new wardrobe addition in the form of these simple peach cut out flats, pulls the outfit together perfectly and for me I think this would be perfect for a meal in the summer or drinks with the girls.
Have you discovered any much loved but slightly neglected pieces in your wardrobe of late?
