After 8 years and band member changes, London band The Rifles are back with their original line up and a brand new single ‘Minute Mile’ taken from the new album ‘None The Wiser’.
Taking their influences from the likes of The Kinks and Doves, the four piece mix classic rock and roll, interesting British indie sounds and melodic pop hooks. On ‘Minute Mile’ they produce a truly timeless sound that is brought bang up to date. Spiky guitars and hi hat cymbals are layered over the constant thud created by the drums while steady melodic verses mix with quicker choruses and their catchy rhythm.
After plenty of years creating music it has seen the band notch up a big fanbase and gain experience live that has aided their song-writing. With all of the four original members back together, it seems they are serious to make a go of this second time round.
The album, produced by Dave McCracken [Ian Brown], will be released via Cooking Vinyl in January 2014 and was recorded at Paul Weller’s Black Barn Studios. Preceding the album and building excitement for it is a 13-date UK tour that the band are currently on finishing up in Leeds on 30th, tickets are available now from their website.
