ootd: crochet dress

Crochet Detail Dress from Topshop / Michael and Yang Bag / Watch – Casio

After buying this dress in the Topshop sale a couple of months ago I’d not really had the chance to wear it so grabbing hold of one of the last days of summer and maybe one of the last chances to wear a dress without tights, boots, cardigans and coats I thought I’d wear this dress for a day of shopping, lunch and viewing houses. This is the type of dress that would be perfect for a night out or an event being a nice LBD in a classic shape but with an extra bit of detail with the red and blue crocheting on the top. It’s good for daytime wear but it does need to be dressed down accessories wise to not look too over the top or posh for just a shopping trip. I did that with some polka dot sandals, basic jewellery and my orange handbag for a bit of brightness as there is no way I could ever have a plain outfit with just basic colours.

In the day I went shopping for some more homeware bits and pieces and had lunch at a pub called The Museum in Orchard Square. I’ve always liked that pub as it’s got a nice atmosphere and is just a really nice place however there was only a very limited veggie range of meals but they have recently updated their menu expanding their range massively and adding lots of vegetarian options. I went for a soft cheese and roasted pepper sandwich on really nice multi-grain bread and a side salad that for once didn’t disappoint, a huge salad and not only full of leaves with plenty of tomato, cucumber and onion in there too. Later on in the evening me and mum went to view a house, after a terribly long time on the market and lots of misfortune we’ve lost out on 3 amazing houses so are on the lookout again. The house we saw was really nice with huge rooms and would definitely be really nice but we are keeping our options open for the time being with plenty of viewings scheduled for the next few weeks it is going to be busy. But I love nothing better than nosing around houses and finding a house I like and planning exactly how I would decorate my room and the place. It’s times like these when I wish I had become an interior designer like I was going to, maybe I need to try and mix it in with the writing thing a little bit more.
