Following on from my post about Edinburgh the other day here are a couple of outfit pictures from while I was away and a look at some of the new bits and pieces that I bought while I was there.
Billabong Dress/Hoodie – Topshop/Pumps – Primark/Necklace – EverOurs/Bag – eBay
I wish it would have been warm enough to have been able to wear this dress without tights but it was Scotland in May so I can’t complain that at least it was sunny and warmish. I bought this dress last year when I was in New York, I’d not really had a chance to wear it before now. I completely love the dress, it’s really floaty and perfect for the beach or summer days, it’s a comfortable and really good fit, holds up really well as a strapless dress and I absolutely love the pattern and colours used here. Billabong is well known as a surf clothing company and this is a dress you can definitely see worn by a surfer girl. It was pretty cheap and a brilliant purchase, I really do love this dress.
Shirt – Topshop/Skirt & Belt – Primark/Necklace & Bracelet – EverOurs
I wore this exact same outfit last year in a blog post but really it is one of my favourite outfits, colour clash of bright red and navy blue is one of my favourites. This outfit is perfect for spring/summer, the skirt falls just below the knee so is perfect for summer nights out. There is a huge lack of pattern here for me but a really strong colour clash still makes the outfit really interesting.
Rimmel Soft Kajal Eyeliner in Black/Rimmel Day to Night Mascara in Black/Kate Moss for Rimmel Lipstick in Shade 110
Edinburgh Nails – Avon Mosaic Effects Top Coat in Mosaic Mica
And here are some of the things I bought while I was in Edinburgh:
Pumps in Coral and Blue – £4 each – Primark
So if you’ve seen my other recent purchases posts then you will know I already have a pair of these blue pumps but seriously they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn therefore I bought another pair in the exact same colour just in case the worst happens and my current pair break that really does show how much I love these.
Aztec Pattern Cut Out Dress – £14 – Primark.
I love this dress, it’s pretty much as simple as that. The pattern and colours used are amazing, it’s so bright and in your face but at the same time it’s stylish and a huge statement piece. The skirt flares out a little adding a nice amount of volume to the dress and interest instead of it just hanging flat. Cut out’s have been something I’ve avoided until now unsure how exactly I could wear them but these cut outs are only small and will not show too much off. For £14 this is a total bargain, a really well made and beautifully patterned dress.
My whiskey related purchases – Jack Daniels fudge, blended whiskeys set and mini Glenfiddich bottle
Seventeen Dolled Up Mascara in Black – £2 with Boots voucher. Avon Always on Point Eyeliner in Black Reviews of both will be up soon.
Blue Nile – vinyl – £16
Never one to miss out on an opportunity to expand my vinyl collection this was my one and only purchase from Fopp though I found at least 3 albums I could have also taken home with me. This was the one that really caught my attention though, after listening to XFM shows and home made podcasts that The Maccabees have done when they have been playing songs from artists that they love this was one of the many new artists that I fell in love with. The stuff I’ve gone on to listen to from Blue Nile after hearing one song has all been great and there was no way I was leaving this record in the shop.
